Armeemarschsammlung

Entitled "Armeemarschsammlung" ( "an army marches Collection") (it is actually: "Prussian army marches collection") understand the catalog of works of German and world military march music. Basis for the creation of this directory is in the relevant decree of the Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm III of 1817. Served as a prototype for the AMS "Russian Imperial catalog marches" which appeared in the XIX century and were selected first march for AMS. About this directory is almost unknown in Russia, but the Germans were constantly referencing it. Perhaps, this directory is "Collection of military marches, guards regiments' AA Derfeldta father, however, it is very unlikely.

AMS is divided into 3 categories in which wetlands differ from the target after their application, these subgroups are indicated with Roman numerals:

Collection I: slow marches (115 marches) (Langsame Märsche für Fußtruppen)
Collection II: ceremonial marches (269 marches) (Parademärsche für Fußtruppen)
Collection III: Cavalry Marches (149 marches) (Kavalleriemärsche)

examples:
Preußens Gloria (AM II, 240)
Königgrätzer Marsch (AM II, 195)

All wetlands that are in the AMS, have the official number of Roman numerals ( Group / Collection) and Arabic numbers (number of songs in the collection).

Heeresmarschsammlung

addition to the AMS at the initiative of an army musician Herman Schmidt (Hermann Schmid) since 1925 was compiled another directory marches - Heeresmarschsammlung. It covers, along with several works from the new AMS marches since the creation of the directory. Drawing HM ended after World War II in 1945. In contrast to AMS, this directory is divided into 4 subgroups:

Collection I: counter-marches (8 marches) (Präsentiermärsche für Fußtruppen)
collection II: ceremonial Marches (38 marches) (Parademärsche für Fußtruppen)
Collection III: cavalry marches (slow tempo) (17 marches) (Kavalleriemärsche im Schritt)
collection IIIB: cavalry marches (fast pace) (83 March) (Kavalleriemärsche im Galopp)

Ka noted several marches from AMS repeated in HM, examples:
Preußens Gloria (AM II, 240 and HM II, 1998)
Yorckscher Marsch (AM II, 37, and HM II, 5)
